Day 3. Our third Day in Rome started with a great Italian breakfast and then we headed to the Historical Colosseo. It’s situated in the center of Rome city and is one of the most ancient monuments in the world. Known as a popular destination, the Colosseum or Colosseo is an iconic symbol of Italy.

The subway was crowded by tourists among us. From a distance, we were astonished by the splendid view of the ” Colosseo” which is the remains of The Antic Rome City. It’s a Monumental Roman amphitheater once used for gladiatorial combats games and wild animal fights. After four centuries of activity, the great arena had been neglected.

The Colosseum or Coliseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is an oval amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. Built of travertine limestone, tuff, and brick-faced concrete, it was the largest amphitheatre ever built at the time and held 50,000 to 80,000 spectators. ( Source Wikipedia).

The Colosseum is the biggest amphitheater in the world. It is 189 meters long, 156 meters wide and an incredible 50 meters tall. And two-thirds of the original Colosseum has been destroyed over time. Walking around, visiting this ancient site really takes you back many years ago. Combined with the visit of Fori Imperiali, this tour had really made our stay memorable.
